This is going to be the third sneaker coming from the Düsseldorf-based store this year, after the success of the Afew x Diadora V7000 Highly Addictive that released back in April and the Afew x Le Coq Sportif R1000 ,,Grand Départ” MIF celebrating the Le Tour de France 2017 start in the city of Düsseldorf. To this list we also have to add the grail Afew x Asics Gel Lyte III ,,Koi” that the retailer first made in 2012 as a 1 of 1 pair and that later on dropped on Japan day 2015, commemorating the 25th anniversary of Asics. All of this sneakers show the great job that the Afew-team does in working on ideas, elaborating concepts and making them turn into reality. And with the new Saucony Shadow Master 5000 is no difference: the shoe has a clear inspiration that has been translated perfectly into the shoe colors and materials.
The new sneaker takes inspiration in the first place from the famous german poet Wolfgang Johann von Goethe that lived around the 18th century and counts as one of the most important authors in the world literature. A few of his most important verses are written on the shoe Heel (together with the Afew Logo), on the Laces and on the Insoles. Secondly is curious that around 50.000 of his works are placed in the Goethe Museum in Düsseldorf, not very far away from the Afew Store. And so the shoe has also a direct relation with this building, taking the primary colors from it. The Architecture of the Museum/Palace, built in 1763, features a mixture of salmon pink and grey, colors which are clearly visible all over the premium suede upper and match perfectly together.
Finally, the Saucony x Afew Shadow Master 5000 ,,Goethe” comes in a specialbox, that includes a Bookmark, a Booklet and also two additional Laces.
